Chapter Eleven

Nessa rolled over and smacked her hand down on the annoying buzzing thing. Her fingers connected with the alarm clock hard enough to send it skidding to the floor, but the damn buzzing didn’t stop. For the first time, since Chase had kidnapped her, she was actually getting a sleep-in. Not that her regular wake-up call was unpleasant. If anything it was a freakin’ fine way for any woman to be pulled from slumber. For the past week, every morning Chase made sure he had his breakfast. And what he ate just happened to be nestled between her thighs. So no, it wasn’t the multiple orgasms he woke her with that were the problem. It was the fact he was waking her an hour earlier than normal—every damn day—so he could enjoy his morning meal.

He’d woken her briefly in the middle of the night when he’d been called away on business. That plus the fact it was her day off, meant she could actually sleep-in. If only the fucking buzzing sound would stop.

With a little more care this time—because she now understood it was her phone ringing—Nessa retrieved the vibrating device, hitting answer as she brought it to her ear.

“Wake up heifer. Get that lazy ass out of bed,” Becca’s voice sang down the line.

“Who you calling heifer? Have you looked at your ass lately? I think if we measure it we could get that thing into the Guinness book of World Records.”

“Don’t be jealous of the ass. Now get up, I wanna go shopping.”

The idea of spending the day with her best friend had Nessa perking up. She couldn’t remember the last time they’d gone more than a day without seeing each other, and it had been almost four.

The niggling memory of Chase’s words, before he left, played through her head. “Don’t leave the house today baby. I’ll call you later.”

When she hadn’t answered him, instead rolling over and burying her head under the pillow he’d tried that commanding voice. The one that just pissed her off.

“I mean it, Vanessa. Don’t. Leave. The house. Today.” She really did hate when he used her real name. Flipping him the bird she’d rolled to the other side and pretended to go back to sleep. Besides, who was he to boss her around? Actually she had no idea who or what he was to her. They’d never discussed what their relationship was about. Hell, even relationship sounded odd to Nessa. Was that really the right name for whatever this was? He’d dragged her to his house, and they banged like bunnies. The only declaration he’d given her was to say,“you’re mine!”. Every hour of every freakin’ day.

“Nessa, did you fall back asleep?” Becca screeched.

“No, I’m good. Pick me up in thirty minutes, just gotta take a quick shower,” Nessa jumped out of bed as she spoke. Excitement about a day out with her bestie caused her to skip in the direction of the bathroom.

“Great. ’Cause I don’t need to be smelling my brother’s funk on you all day.
